DD Campervan Tarp Removable Awning for Small Camper Vans

The DD Hammocks Campervan Tarp is a removable awning for small camper vans like VW campers, offering more flexibility than traditional fixed side awnings. This 2.5m x 2.5m tarp features both 6mm and 8mm beading to fit standard awning rails, UV50 Plus protection blocking 98% of UVA and UVB rays, and 3000mm waterproof rating. Weighs 1120g. Available in Olive Green only.

IMPORTANT: Poles sold separately. Requires 2 poles for overhead awning setup, optional 3rd pole for centre support.

DD Campervan Tarp Removable Awning More Flexible Than Fixed Awnings

The removable design allows you to attach and remove the awning quickly without permanent installation. Traditional fixed side awnings remain attached to the camper van permanently, adding weight and wind resistance during driving. The DD Campervan Tarp packs into a stuff sack when not needed, reducing weight and improving fuel efficiency when driving.

The removable design also allows you to set up the awning only when you need covered outdoor space, rather than having a fixed awning that may not be useful in all camping situations. This flexibility makes the Campervan Tarp suitable for varied trips where you want the option of an awning without the commitment of permanent installation.

DD Campervan Tarp Fits 6mm and 8mm Beading Channels

The Campervan Tarp includes both 6mm and 8mm beading to fit standard awning rails on camper vans. The tarp has been designed and tested on a VW California T6.1, but fits any van or awning with 6mm or 8mm beading channels. The 8mm beading threads through the awning rail on the left-hand side of VW campers for overhead awning setup. The 6mm beading works as a side-wall in conjunction with built-in awnings.

The dual beading system provides versatility for different camper van configurations. Check your camper van's awning rail size before purchase to ensure compatibility. Most modern camper vans use either 6mm or 8mm beading channels, making the Campervan Tarp compatible with a wide range of vehicles.

DD Campervan Tarp Two Setup Options Overhead or Side-Wall

Overhead Awning Setup

Thread the 8mm beading through the awning rail on the side of your camper van. The outward edge requires 2 poles for support, one at each corner. Guy out the poles to provide stability. An optional third pole can be placed in the centre of the tarp to give more headroom and aid water run-off on wet days. The whole setup takes only a few minutes once you have practiced the process.

Side-Wall Setup

Thread the 6mm beading into the channel on the edge of your existing awning. Peg out the bottom edge to the ground and attach the sides to the awning frame to secure it in place. This configuration creates an enclosed side-wall that blocks wind and provides privacy alongside your built-in awning.

DD Campervan Tarp UV50 Plus Protection for Hot Climates

The UV50 Plus material blocks over 98% of UVA and UVB rays, providing sun protection when camping in hot climates or during long sunny days. The UV protection prevents skin damage during extended periods under the awning and helps the fabric resist degradation from constant sun exposure, extending the tarp's lifespan in sunny environments.

The UV50 Plus protection makes the Campervan Tarp particularly suitable for European summer trips, Mediterranean camping, or any situation where you spend extended time under the awning in direct sunlight. The protection works alongside the 3000mm waterproof rating to provide shelter from both sun and rain.

DD Campervan Tarp Size 2.5m x 2.5m for Small Camper Vans

The 2.5m x 2.5m dimensions provide 6.25 square metres of covered space alongside your camper van. This size works well for small camper vans like VW California, providing covered outdoor living space for cooking, dining, or relaxing without taking up excessive space at campsites.

The compact size when packed (stuff sack included) makes it easy to store inside the camper van without taking up valuable storage space. The 1120g weight is light enough to carry easily and does not significantly impact fuel efficiency when stored in the vehicle.

DD Campervan Tarp 3000mm Waterproof Rating

The 3000mm waterproof PU coating provides reliable protection from rain, allowing you to use the covered outdoor space even during wet weather. The waterproof rating is the same as DD camping tarps, proven through extensive field testing in UK weather conditions.

The waterproof protection allows you to cook, eat, and relax under the awning during rain without getting wet. The optional centre pole helps water run-off, preventing pooling on the tarp surface during heavy rain.

When to Choose DD Campervan Tarp Over Fixed Awnings

Choose the removable Campervan Tarp when you want the flexibility to set up an awning only when needed. The removable design allows you to pack it away during driving, reducing weight and wind resistance compared to permanent fixed awnings.

Choose the Campervan Tarp when you want a lightweight awning solution that packs small. The 1120g weight and compact stuff sack take up minimal storage space inside your camper van, leaving room for other camping gear.

Choose the Campervan Tarp for European summer trips or hot climate camping where UV50 Plus protection matters. The UV blocking prevents skin damage and extends the tarp's lifespan in sunny conditions.

Choose fixed awnings when you want permanent installation and do not mind the added weight and wind resistance during driving. Fixed awnings provide quicker setup since they remain attached to the vehicle, but lack the flexibility of removable designs.

DD Campervan Tarp Complementary Equipment

Purchase 2 poles minimum for overhead awning setup (sold separately). A 3rd centre pole is optional but recommended for better headroom and water run-off. Use the included pegs and guy lines for securing the awning. The adjustable buckles (included) attach to awning frames for side-wall configurations.

DD Campervan Tarp Limitations to Consider

The Campervan Tarp requires poles (sold separately) for overhead awning setup. You need to purchase at least 2 poles, adding to the total system cost and weight. The setup takes a few minutes and requires practice to become efficient, whereas fixed awnings deploy more quickly.

The 2.5m x 2.5m size (6.25 square metres) provides adequate covered space for small camper vans but may feel tight for larger groups or extended outdoor living. Larger awnings provide more covered space but weigh more and pack larger.

The removable design requires setup and takedown each time you use it. Fixed awnings remain attached to the vehicle, providing quicker deployment but less flexibility. Choose based on whether you prioritize flexibility or convenience.

DD Campervan Tarp Care and Maintenance

Allow the tarp to dry completely before packing into the stuff sack. The UV50 Plus fabric resists degradation from sun exposure, but storing the tarp dry prevents mildew growth. Rinse with clean water if dirty and hang to dry before packing.

Inspect the beading regularly for wear, as this is the part that threads through awning rails and experiences friction during setup. Check the adjustable buckles to ensure they function properly. Store the tarp loosely in its stuff sack when not in use.

DD Campervan Tarp Frequently Asked Questions

What size beading does my camper van need?

The Campervan Tarp includes both 6mm and 8mm beading. Check your camper van's awning rail to determine which size you need. VW California uses 8mm for the main awning rail and 6mm for side-wall attachments to built-in awnings. Most modern camper vans use either 6mm or 8mm.

Does the Campervan Tarp fit VW California?

Yes, the tarp has been designed and tested on VW California T6.1. It fits any van or awning with 6mm or 8mm beading channels, making it compatible with VW California and many other camper vans.

How many poles do I need?

You need 2 poles minimum for overhead awning setup, one at each corner. A 3rd centre pole is optional but recommended for better headroom and water run-off during rain. Poles are sold separately.

Can I use this as a side-wall with my existing awning?

Yes, thread the 6mm beading into the channel on the edge of your existing awning, peg out the bottom, and attach the sides to the awning frame. This creates an enclosed side-wall that blocks wind and provides privacy.

What is UV50 Plus protection?

UV50 Plus means the fabric blocks over 98% of UVA and UVB rays that cause sunburn and skin damage. This provides sun protection during extended periods under the awning and helps the fabric resist degradation from constant sun exposure.

How long does setup take?

Setup takes a few minutes once you have practiced the process. Thread the beading through the awning rail, attach poles to the corners, and guy out for stability. The process becomes quicker with practice.

Is the Campervan Tarp waterproof?

Yes, the 3000mm waterproof rating provides reliable protection from rain. This is the same waterproof rating as DD camping tarps, proven through extensive field testing in UK weather conditions.

Why choose a removable awning over a fixed awning?

Removable awnings pack away during driving, reducing weight and wind resistance compared to fixed awnings. This improves fuel efficiency and allows you to set up the awning only when needed. Fixed awnings provide quicker deployment but remain attached permanently.

My house has never been so clean!
Size: 05-11S
As a neat freak, this has been one of my favorite purchases recently. Hands down. No doubt. Our house has seriously never felt so clean. With four boys coming and going, plus a cat, plus my wife and I both working out of the same house, this place gets dir-r-r-r-ty! But now, I just set this little baby up and get it goes to town. Note: the first several times that we used it, the machine's debris holding chamber was LOADED. We ran it until the battery died (and it returned to it's charger automatically), emptied it, and then ran it again as soon as it was fully charged. But each time that it ran, it was completely full! Every single time. None of us can believe how dirty we were living. Note #2: We now take it upstairs to do a deep cleaning there. We had a little bit of a learning curve to make sure that all of the electric cords and such were off the floor. (They untangle easily, btw, if you forget). My son with the cat had a room that used to smell terrible... it smells almost normal after we ran this several times through there. And the volume of cat hair that this thing picked up is crazy amazing. Hair that we didn't even see. I didn't know cat hair smalled badly, but it must've. Room smells pretty decent now (not perfect - there still is a smally boy living in there)! Note #3: We keep a pretty clean house. That is what is amazing about this thing. It makes it really clean. Note #4: After the first several runs, make sure that you clean the roller brush. It will make a difference. The tool that comes with the unit that looks like a comb does a great job. If you get hair or thread or similar wrapped around it, use the handy dandy letter opener-style cutter to easily and safely clean it out. The blue parts on bottom around roller remove easily for deep cleaning. Do it! Easy and worth it for better future results. Note #5: Does all types of floors really well. We have ceramic, vinyl, short carpet, marble, deep carpet - all on the first floor of our house --- NO PROBLEM for Eufy! It moves with ease between them all. Note #6: Problem areas? We have a screened in porch that has a door that allows tiny little leaves in under the door. I'll just set the Eufy out there and forget about it. When I see it again, the machine has run out of juice and the floor is perfectly clean. Or my basement office. Set it in there at the end of the day, close the door and forget about it. In the morning, the floors are clean and the machine is sleeping where it ran out of power. I take it back upstairs, empty the cannister, and put it back on the charger. Last note: It gets in tight spaces. It cleans edges beautifully. It spends more time on a room than we ever would, so I guess that is why it cleans so well. It gets under most of our furniture. Around most of our chairs. And oh - I almost forgot - this vacuum is SO-o-o-o quiet. With our upright, you can't hear yourself think. With this thing, I can be do my work uninterrupted. Disclaimer - I have wasted a lot of time just watching machine in amazement and awe! Thankfully I can now walk away from it - although the 7 sessions with a therapist to get me to break the habit were a pain. ;) I highly recommend the machine - if you couldn't already tell! I came back on to Amazon to buy a unit for my in-laws and saw the opportunity to avoid my job for a little bit to write this review! Funny, but I am glad that I did. This little fella is totally worth it. If you are thinking about which brand to buy, you can't go wrong with Eufy. Kudos to the manufacturer and development team! Note to manufacturer: Can you please develop a machine to automatically climb and clean stairs (cook, do toilets, do laundry)... ? People, you are going to love this vacuum!

Great robovac! We named ours “Robby the Robovac.”
Size: 06-15C Max
I hesitated for years to pull the trigger on getting a robot vacuum, and I shouldn’t have. If you are on the fence, get one. This thing has been worth the $250 in the first month, alone. (I compare it to a maid service fee.) It automates the simplest but most essential task of cleaning, because most dust and dirt ends up on the floor. It also forced me to finally tidy up all the wires and miscellaneous junk I had laying around on the floor, and thereby also eliminate areas where dust and dirt would accumulate, both of which were unexpected side benefits. It also frees up time to then wet mop and clean other places more easily, and tacitly helps me WANT to follow through with those final stages of cleaning that are easier because it takes care of the most time-intensive, initial stage of cleaning. It has been a life changer for us. The first week made the house smell a bit dusty because it kicked up all the latent dust from the corners, under furniture, and in the rugs. But once it got through that stage, the whole house looks and “feels” so much cleaner and smells nicer. Subtle but significant difference. I live in a one-story bungalow with mostly hardwoood or laminate floors, with a low-nap Berber floor covering in my master bedroom. I have a mid-size wire-hair dog who sheds normally, and it is perfect for picking up dog hair. I also have a nine year old son who adds to the dust and dirt. The suction is great on all of our surfaces. It works better than my stand-up “cyclonic” Hoover. Having three suction settings allows you to adjust the noise level depending on how clean you need the suction to be. The side brushes seem trite but definitely do work to help collect and”funnel” dirt into the collection bin. They also hit under furniture legs and walls edges to help collect the dirt that hides there. The collection bin does need to be emptied frequently (every few uses, especially when you first use it), but I look at that as letting me know what would have been on my floor if I didn’t have the unit. It is amazing how much it cleans off the floor even after the first wave of cleaning. The different cleaning modes are also well thought out: edge cleaning, spiral-spot cleaning, and random walk cleaning. I use the edge cleaning mode the most because dust and dirt tend to congregate along the edges. Three downsides that are probably fixed in higher end models. First, getting the app to work was unnecessarily frustrating and difficult because I forgot my exact WiFi password. The problem is that the interface requires you to go through about a five minute process for each “guess,” which made syncing to the app much more frustrating and unnecessarily slower than it should have been. Then with each failed attempt, I also had to also manually reset the entire unit by pressing the power button for 20 seconds. They should program it to test the password quickly so the entire syncing process does not take five minutes until you find out you typed the password incorrectly. (Especially because WiFi passwords are case-sensitive, so it is easy to mistype it). Once I typed the correct password and synced it, the problem was over, but it was frustrating and time consuming. Second, controlling the unit manually through the app is difficult because of the lag time in the signal through WiFi. So any time I manually steer the until, I use the remote and not the app. Not a big deal, but something to note. It is also too loud to schedule vacuuming at night. It woke us up the first three times it ran a scheduled overnight clean, partly because we keep our bedroom doors open at night. We are still on COVID lockdown, so I can’t just schedule it to run during the day while we are at work. So I just run it in the background during the day or when I leave to go to the store or take the dog for a walk. Nonetheless, none of those are dealbreakers, mostly just minor inconveniences that are acceptable at this price point. It still earns its five star rating for fulfilling its primary purpose and then some.

Life Changing, and Superb Customer Service
Size: 12, Size: 12
Hey folks. I bought this model of Eufy while on sale a little over six months ago, and have used it daily since. Thinking about buying one? Do it. No regrets here, and I wish I had purchased one when I first began thinking about it a year and a half ago. I live next to the Gulf Coast in Florida, and coastal living = constant sand. Fine, white quartz sand ends up in your home constantly regardless of how many rugs and floor mats you place at entranceways. Our home is completely tiled, and the powdery sand sticks to everything, so it’s a never ending battle keeping the floors clean. We used to sweep pretty much daily in the morning, and then use a hand vac around corners in the evening just to keep up with it. We also have one cat, a Great Pyrenees, and an English shepherd, so sweeping daily was necessary to keep fur from drifting into giant globs in corners and under furniture. After purchasing the Eufy, and charging it up, we no longer have to sweep every day. The eufy is simply fantastic at getting up all the pet fur and sand. Instead of sweeping every morning, I now stare off vacantly out the window while drinking my coffee, and the eufy sweeps for me. My five year old named our Eufy “Mumford” and we created a face cut out from a roll of white window cling vinyl (purchased the white vinyl window cling on amazon too- it’s meant for those Cricut machines) for the little guy. Mumford is now a treasured family member. For reference, my house is all tile and is about 1500 square feet. The eufy can clean our dining room, living room, kitchen, bathroom, and playroom on a single charge, but since it doesn’t map out the rooms, I do place it in one room at a time, and block it off or shut the door. It does fine if I don’t block it off, but takes longer to get the job done. Since I keep the common areas clutter free, it is no trouble running the eufy every morning. I have my kiddos pick up anything on the floor, and then we hit the button and go about getting breakfast ready. If you are messier, or have a lot of clutter in your home- a Eufy probably isn’t the answer. It can’t do a good job if it isn’t able to roam around freely to vacuum. It fits under all of our furniture, and maneuvers well around my oak dining tables and chairs. If your home is very large and multi level, and you don’t want to pay attention - you may want something that maps your home. Eufy bumps around haphazardly, and when you leave it on long enough and run it consistently, it does a great job. I do not run it when we aren’t home, and I do not run it at night when we are sleeping. The last thing I want is for one of the dogs or the cat to get sick, and then have eufy run over the mess. Eeew. If you have pets, don’t make that mistake. If your home is larger than 1500 square feet, you’ll likely have to clean different sections at a time maybe on different days or nights of the week. Customer service is fantastic. After six months of daily use, our unit had a malfunction. The bumper on the right side would stick, and our unit would spin constantly clockwise. I contacted Eufy, and they did some troubleshooting with me, and when that didn’t fix the problem, I was sent a brand new unit. They emailed me a free return label to ship my old one back to them at no charge. All in all this is an excellent and helpful product, and the company that makes it is reliable and true to the warranty. I know several people that own one and love it, and have recommended it to friends and family members. Buy one!!!!!!

Cleans so you don't have to... QUIETLY
Size: 07-C30
I previously bought a Deebot for use on our main level floor, where we spend most of our time at home. It works great and connects with our Google Home. But we run it in the middle of the weekdays because it's pretty noisy. Still, we really like the benefits of a robotic vacuum. So, we thought we might try it on our lower level. I set it up downstairs, but found that, while it seemed to pick up dirt, the back end bounced quite a bit over the berber carpet, which isn't an issue on the main floor which is hardwood with only one entry rug. So, we went about looking for an alternative for downstairs. We really wanted something that can connect with our Google Home, so that limited our options within our budget. There were lots of great reviews of iRobot products for carpet, but I had a hard time with the price. There were a few other brands, as well, but they were obscure brands, and I didn't want to be stuck with an expensive vacuum and no customer service. Eufy was a brand I kept in mind as I shopped because we'd had a lot of experience with their parent brand, Anker. They've always sold us a great product at a reasonable price, and importantly, if a product failed for any reason, we'd experienced great customer service. I finally decided I'd pull the trigger on the RoboVac 30C because it had the features we wanted. I ordered it from Amazon on Thanksgiving with a bunch of other stuff I wanted to get. I was a bit disappointed that there was no Black Friday pricing, but it was still very competitive over the deeply discounted Roomba models *(see below). It arrived on Sunday, so very quick shipping via Amazon Prime. We set it up right away. The first, VERY OBVIOUS thing we noticed... It's quiet* (see below). Way quieter than the Deebot. As we had hoped, it also picked up dirt from the carpet easily and without bouncing. The magnetic strips also helped to avoid another pitfall of the Deebot... We have these chairs with unusual bases that are low enough on the edges for the vacuums to drive themselves up on, then there's a hole about 3 inches from the edge that creates a cliff for the vacuum to get hung up on. Both vacuums will do that, but the Eufy 30C has those strips which it won't cross. Put the strips around the base of the chairs, and no hangups. The only issue right now is that, unfortunately, the Eufy app doesn't play with Google Home very well. We are assuming that will get fixed. And if it doesn't, the app works pretty well as a stand alone, which is the next best thing, so I won't dock any stars for that. Overall, I am extremely pleased with this vacuum so far. It does clean very well and doesn't have any problem doing approximately 400 square feet on a single charge around furniture and other odds and ends on the floor. *Customer service : Many vendors will contact Amazon customers shortly after purchase of one of their products to make sure all is well. Eufy did this. I thought I'd give them a preliminary review because I wanted to let them know that things were going well so far. I mentioned that it worked great (didn't know about the Google home issue, yet, but I was overall pleased). I mentioned as an aside that it was a tiny bit annoying that it arrived on Sunday and the Cyber Monday deal made a significant price difference. Still, I liked it enough that I wasn't going to be too annoyed. I certainly wasn't going to try to return it and buy it again to get the better price. A couple days later, they thanked me for my comments... And refunded me the difference in price. They definitely didn't have to. But it was pretty awesome of them. *Noise level: My hubby set up the schedule for the RoboVac 30C. He decided to go with the same schedule as the Deebot, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in the middle of the day. But instead of setting it up for 12:01 pm, he set it for am. It was running in the middle of the night and we didn't know it for 2+ weeks. I discovered it when I decided to make sure to have the app on my phone too and saw the scheduling error. To be fair, we sleep on the upper level of our modified split level house and the RoboVac is on the lower level, but I have ears like a bat, and had no idea. And yes, it's cleaning - - I've been cleaning out the dust bin for it regularly. Definitely wouldn't have been that way with the Deebot. So, yeah. It's quiet.

My little OCD cleaner - 2020 One Year UPDATE
Size: eufy 30
One year update: I bought my 2 Eufys Aug. 2019 and use them once a week or every two weeks and have come across some quirks. The most recent quirk is Eufy just stopping in the middle of a room with the blue light still on and no error beeps. Apparently, it stops for no reason. I hit the remote start and it continues its job. Another quirk is stopping and beeping with blinking light for some reason (keep your manual handy) and once was because of the front Pivot wheel not moving because of hair being wound around it. I popped the wheel off, cleaned out the hair, reset Eufy by pushing the reset button on the bottom and it then worked fine. Another quirk was getting to the stairs and for some reason couldn't turn around and started beeping. That time I just wiped the three sensors on the bottom and reset it and it was fine after that. One day, it just continually stopped for no reason that I could find. It just stops, no beeping and still fully charged. I just kept resetting it with the bottom reset button until it finally finished the room. That happened about 10 times that day. Over the winter, I had a stray cat decide she wanted to live with me, so now I have a cat with long hair and she sheds a lot. Eufy doesn't pick up large tufts of her hair from my rugs, so I use a hair mit on the worst spots on my rugs and then Eufy does a fine job on the rugs. Another tip, try using your magnet strips to divide up larger rooms. I ended up having to do that in my living room because otherwise it took forever for Eufy to hit every area. Now I divide it in half. When one half looks complete, I pick up Eufy and put it in the other half. That works well! Also, your magnet strips can be stuck to the side of your refrigerator for storage! I find that very handy. :) You really do need to clean Eufy between charges. I have my system broken down into Living room and kitchen. Clean and charge (about 4.5 hours), then the hallway, bathroom, bedroom. Clean it and charge. Then lastly, my office/sewing room. Clean it and charge. It takes only 5- 10 minutes to clean it between uses. I'm still thrilled I have these Eufys and have decided I will never be without a Robo Vac - ever. And hopefully Eufy will still be around when I need a replacement. I bought these partly because of the Anker name. I've bought other Anker products for years and they're always made well. End of update. I bought two of these yesterday with the Deal of the day and received them today. They both took about 3 hours to fully charge and then it was off to the races. One went downstairs and the other one upstairs. I left the Eufy downstairs in the basement to do its thing on low pile carpet and tile and went down to check on it periodically. Twice I found it stuck in strange places. One was on top of a small table base and the other was lodged next to my furnace. I'll just have to block those two areas next time. The one upstairs was in my kitchen for a good 45 minutes to an hour! OCD I'd say, but my kitchen is nice and clean. :) Rugs included. These do an excellent job with edge cleaning. The one in the kitchen miraculously followed the curves in the pedestal base on the table. Pretty cool. It also traveled over all my wood floor vent covers which is pretty impressive because they're pretty thick! It also fits under most of my furniture. I sent a Roomba back years ago because it wouldn't fit under my sofa, loveseat and tables. That made it useless for me. These fit under everything except a lowboy chest and 3 smaller tables in my living room...Swiffer will take care of those. The drop sensors worked perfectly at the stairs. It turned around instead of going down. The upstairs Eufy finished my kitchen, living room, entryway and was in the bathroom when the red light came on and is now charging. Both Eufys ran for the 100 minutes as stated in the manual. I emptied the upstairs bin twice, but only because I had stopped the Eufy to get it out of the kitchen and before I sent it to charge. The bin wasn't full either time, but had plenty of dirt and fuzz in it, so I'm happy with that! I decided I'm not programming a schedule because I don't need my house cleaned daily. It's just me here and no pets anymore, so I will manually turn them on once or twice a week. I did pick EVERYTHING up off my floors for this first cleaning, but that's just not ever going to happen again. It was a PIA and I could have vacuumed my entire house in the time it took to clear the floors. I'll leave the cords zip tied, but everything else is staying put next time. All that work defeats the purpose of having these. I am THRILLED TO DEATH with these though. Vacuuming is one of my least favorite chores. These will definitely be used weekly and I look forward to watching them work instead of me! Also, these are sooooo quiet. You can't even hear where they are in the same room as you if they're cleaning underneath something. I'm so glad I bought them and at an excellent price. The exorbitantly expensive robo vacs are just not feasible for me. Maybe if they had a 20 year life span, they would be, but they don't. I'm also not into controlling everything through a stupid app or WiFi. Don't need those and don't want those. I don't need NHS knowing when I'm vacuuming my house. These were worth every cent, IMO Great little vacs!
